The 'Burgh Blues is back in action!

Wow. It has been awhile.

After nearly a month of inactivity, The 'Burgh Blues has finally made its triumphant return. I'd like to start by thanking Mark Newman at MLBlogs.com and Six Apart for helping out in solving several technical issues. There is a lot to catch up on, and I'm hopeful that you'll all be there with me.

First and foremost, TBB has created its own Facebook page. I'd appreciate it if everyone could please join, as the page will not only serve as updates for the site, but also a place for people to discuss the blog and the Pirates ball club itself.

Please also check out our site's new promotional images, created by photographer and graphic designer Daniel Baruch. Baruch joined our team in image design, and I am personally very excited to have him working along side us. I'll be posting a bio on the talented artist soon enough, so be sure to check back.

The rumors, fortunately and unfortunately, are true. The reason most of those images on our fb page read "Coming Spring 2009," is because The 'Burgh Blues will be moving to its own .com domain next February or March. This was a decision I made during our idle period, and while MLBlogs has been a terrific program for us to use, it is time to move on. We will greatly enjoy our next couple months here, as it's going to be a very busy 2009 offseason.

With that being said, it's time to tell discuss what is on TBB's upcoming agenda. An outlook on the Pirates' 2008 winter will be posted as early as tomorrow, with four pages consisting of analytical reports, questions, and advice on the current Pittsburgh roster.

Also, with the departure of pitching coach Jeff Andrews, GM Neal Huntington pulled a quick one and signed former New York Yankees bullpen coach Joe Kerrigan. Kerrigan was chosen to man the young Bucco pitchers next season because of his previous coaching stops in Boston and Philadelphia. We'll be covering that story and the "State of The 'Burgh's Arms" later this week.

I am so glad to be back and covering Pirates baseball again... because that is always entertaining, right?
